An epic blog about the Shiny Pokemon Hunters Riley and Alex. To teach people about Shiny Pokemon, to share our stories about Shiny encounters and inspire people to hunt Shiny Pokemon..... A Shiny Pokemon is an very rare Pokemon with different coloration than normal Pokemon. The odds of encountering a Shiny Pokemon are 1/8192, or 1/4096 in Gen 6. There are methods to increase the chances of finding one, such as the Masuda Method and Chaining. We will address all of this and more in our blog.

Shiny Kakuna
S.H.R speaking. Pokemon FireRed seems to be a shiny central for me. On one of my many, many, playthroughs, I encountered a shiny Kakuna in Viridian Forest. Followed by screaming and about 3 Pokeballs I caught it. I then immediately transferred it to Pokemon Diamond, then to Black, and finally White. I used it on my team until I needed to make room for a Flying type. Thank God I encountered a shiny Kakuna and not a shiny Caterpie. I hate Butterfrees.
