An epic blog about the Shiny Pokemon Hunters Riley and Alex. To teach people about Shiny Pokemon, to share our stories about Shiny encounters and inspire people to hunt Shiny Pokemon..... A Shiny Pokemon is an very rare Pokemon with different coloration than normal Pokemon. The odds of encountering a Shiny Pokemon are 1/8192, or 1/4096 in Gen 6. There are methods to increase the chances of finding one, such as the Masuda Method and Chaining. We will address all of this and more in our blog.

Gen III Shiny
Hey it's Alex talking about a shiny Poochyena I caught on Route 117. I was trying to catch a Gulpin I believe when I encountered it. I hastily caught and raised it up to Lv. 18 when it evolved into Mightyena. I didn't touch it and I have now transferred it to my Black, where it now has Pokerus.

Hey can you do a post about pokerus? What is it, how do you get it, etc.?
ReplyDeleteWell, first,Pokerus is a 'virus' that makes your Pokemon have double the EV points (effort value points). The odds of getting a Pokemon with Pokerus is 1/21845 but my friend Riley had a Pokerus infected Infernape which he let me borrow. You spread it by battling with the infected Pokemon and after some battles (some take longer than others to infect) and Pokemon can be left in the PC and keep pokerus (which normally wears off in 1-4 days) but can't spread it. A Pokemon that had Pokerus will have a face that's pink on the summary and will still have the effects of Pokerus.
DeleteWhen a Pokemon has Pokerus it has the letters PKRS on the summary. Use these Pokemon to have a stronger team in future games. Pokerus has been around since Gen. II. All info is from Gen V.
Thanks for the great explanation, Alex! You should make a whole post about it.
