Hey it's Shiny Hunter Alex asking you something that you think is true. What's your favorite way to get shinies? Trade, Masuda Method, Chaining, Soft Resetting, or just normal running around? Please comment it or just poll it. Also if you want to add your favorite shiny in the comments and which one you want next.
An epic blog about the Shiny Pokemon Hunters Riley and Alex. To teach people about Shiny Pokemon, to share our stories about Shiny encounters and inspire people to hunt Shiny Pokemon..... A Shiny Pokemon is an very rare Pokemon with different coloration than normal Pokemon. The odds of encountering a Shiny Pokemon are 1/8192, or 1/4096 in Gen 6. There are methods to increase the chances of finding one, such as the Masuda Method and Chaining. We will address all of this and more in our blog.

Shiny Charmander Hunt Update
Hello, people who read this blog! A little while ago Alex and I started hunting a shiny Charmander, he was SRing on my Pokemon FireRed, and I was using the MM on my Pokemon Black. Since my boxes are STILL cluttered up from that shiny Eevee hunt, I had to switch to SRing and Alex is doing the MM on his Pokemon Black.

Masuda Method vs. Soft Resetting
Hey, it's Riley typing. Today I would like to go over the pros and cons of the two most efficient ways to get shinies- Masuda Method or Soft Resetting.
Masuda Method
Pros Cons
You obtain lots Your boxes get
of Pokemon you cluttered up.
can trade.
Chances are 1/1366 You need Wi-Fi
or 1/1639. capabilities or a
friend with a game in another
language.
You can't hatch
Legendaries.
Soft Resetting
Pros Cons
Super easy and Kind of boring.
does not require
Wi-Fi. Chances are 1/8192.
A single Masuda Method Pokemon = 6 normal Pokemon. I can hatch 1 Charmander (with the Flame Body/ Magma Armor trick) every 2 minutes. So if you can SR/encounter 3 or more Starters per minute, you can match the Masuda Method. That means if you SR more than 3 Starters per minute, you would get a shiny faster than you would with the Masuda Method. If you SR something like the Hitmonchan or the random Pokemon you have to deliver to people in HG/SS, you would have a worse chance since you can hatch those faster than starters. So overall, if you want Legendaries SR. Anything else I would MM.
P.S
Technically Eevee and Pickachu are starters. In Pokemon Yellow, your rival gets an Eevee, and you get a Pikachu.

Gen III Shiny
Hey it's Alex talking about a shiny Poochyena I caught on Route 117. I was trying to catch a Gulpin I believe when I encountered it. I hastily caught and raised it up to Lv. 18 when it evolved into Mightyena. I didn't touch it and I have now transferred it to my Black, where it now has Pokerus.

Shiny Manaphy
I am really thankful I thought of trading my Crobat on the GTS, it got me this legit shiny Manaphy. I wasn't even on Negotiations. Some of you might say "Getting a shiny Manaphy is impossible, there is a shiny check!" but in reality, the shiny check is avoidable. For those of you who have yet to learn what a shiny check is, it is a thing that keeps event Pokemon like Celebi and Manaphy from being shiny. There is a very complex calculation using ID, secret ID, and the personality value of the Pokemon that I won't even try to explain that decides if it is shiny. Anyway, the shiny check will keep on regenerating the Pokemon until it is not shiny. But since the shiny check is preformed on the Manaphy egg, if you trade it someone else with a different ID and secret ID before it hatches, it has a normal chance of being shiny. Pretty lucky, huh?
Ruining a Shiny
S.H.R here. This is a sad tale about a shiny Zubat. I believe I was playing through either Pearl or Platinum when I encountered a shiny Zubat. It was my first shiny. Naturally, I was in shock of finally encountering a shiny. After I caught it I did something I'm not proud of. You see, Alex and I used to have Action Replays. We used them mainly for Rare Candies. I beefed up my Zubat to Lv. 100 almost immediately. About a year later, when I finally stopped hacking and wiped my games of all the hacks, I just couldn't let go of my Crobat, even though it was pink. I then had idea. After about a day on the GTS, I had a shiny Manaphy.
P.S
To all hackers out there, Rare Candies don't give Pokemon Effort Points, making them considerably weaker than normal.

Shiny Kakuna
S.H.R speaking. Pokemon FireRed seems to be a shiny central for me. On one of my many, many, playthroughs, I encountered a shiny Kakuna in Viridian Forest. Followed by screaming and about 3 Pokeballs I caught it. I then immediately transferred it to Pokemon Diamond, then to Black, and finally White. I used it on my team until I needed to make room for a Flying type. Thank God I encountered a shiny Kakuna and not a shiny Caterpie. I hate Butterfrees.
Negotiation Skills
Hey it's Alex talking about the other shiny I got, a Lv. 32 shiny Druddigon that seems legit. So earlier I got a hacked Lv. 100 shiny Delibird for my Blissey. I soon found a guy who really liked it and I got the Druddigon and it seems legit since it was caught at Dragonspiral Tower. That's it but I'm going to tell you a effective way to get shinies.
1. Get some starters from a friend and level them up, as long as you don't hack you can possibly get some legendaries, most likely Reshiram or Zekrom.
2. Get some other legendaries (Ex. Ho-oh, Lugia, Latios, Latias).
3.Offer them and see if you can get a shiny!

Another Shiny
Hey it's Alex telling you about my last shiny I got a shiny Lucario! I was looking for shinies on GTS when i met a guy with a Lv. 100 LEGIT Lucario! I showed him many Pokemon but he wouldn't budge until I gave him my Lv. 84 Ho-oh that I got in trade. Lucario is legit since it was caught in Challenger's Cave at Lv. 50, and after a bit of research I found out you can catch Riolus in the cave. So I just got myself another legit shiny.

Masuda Method
Hello, it's Riley. Today I will tell you about the Masuda Method. It is called the Masuda Method because it was programmed in Gen. IV and V by Junichi Masuda. It raises the chances of getting a Shiny from 1/8192 to 1/1639 in Gen. IV and 1/1366 in Gen. V. You have to make two Pokemon breed together from two different languages to increase the chances.

Shiny Eevee
Hello, Riley here typing yet another post on a Shiny. My newest Shiny I have found is a Masuda Method Shiny Eevee. It took me a lucky 334 eggs. I hatched it on route 3. Again, lots of screaming occurred. It had a modest nature so I evolved it into a Espeon. It is pretty low-level and I have decided to use on my team for Pokemon Black Version 2.
