An epic blog about the Shiny Pokemon Hunters Riley and Alex. To teach people about Shiny Pokemon, to share our stories about Shiny encounters and inspire people to hunt Shiny Pokemon..... A Shiny Pokemon is an very rare Pokemon with different coloration than normal Pokemon. The odds of encountering a Shiny Pokemon are 1/8192, or 1/4096 in Gen 6. There are methods to increase the chances of finding one, such as the Masuda Method and Chaining. We will address all of this and more in our blog.

Charmander Masuda Method update
Hey, Riley here. I've recently hit 300 Charmanders on my Masuda Method hunt, and at this rate I could get a shiny pretty soon. For the Feburary hunt, I'll hatch a Pokemon with a relatively low number of egg cycles, like Magikarp or Crogunk.
1st Shiny of 2013

Pokemon X and Y
Hello my few readers, welcome to Generation 6. There's been a few surprises lately. The first games of Gen. 6, Pokemon X and Y, have been announced. Lots of people were upset because Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire remakes are still not in development. But that's not the biggest shocker. The new games are on the 3DS, which was met with mixed opinions. The games' graphics looks reminiscent of Pokemon Colosseum, and there is speculation about the new region being based around Europe. So far the information about the starters and the games mascots have been released. The fire starter, Fennekin, is based on a fox. The grass starter, Chespin, seems to be based on a hedgehog or porcupine. The water starter, Froakie, is based on a frog. The 2 new legendaries, Yveltal and Xerneas, are based on the letters "Y" and "X", respectively. Click here to see the announcement/trailer. I hope you all will be able to play what is sure to be an amazing game.

Chaining
Hey it's Shiny Hunter Alex on chaining! So Chaining is something in Gen. IV when you use the Pokeradar and keep finding a certain Pokemon many times. 40 and up is the best since the odds are 1/200! You will need max repels to keep away non Pokeradar Pokemon. Also have a Pokemon that knows False Swipe or Hypnosis
(or both). Also, have PP restoring items. Start off easy, like starly, then go after better Pokemon. Make sure the Pokeradar is registered, obviously. Chaining is very difficult but when you reach fourty, it's worth it. There is much more technical things you can learn about if you watch this video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jD97AD5t4CE

Pokemon Black/White Version 2
Hullo, SHR here. There are two new main series games coming out. Pokemon Black Version 2, and Pokemon White Version 2. I'm a little dissapointed the names are so bad, but there are 2 games not one, as speculated. I personally was anticipating the next game to be Pokemon Gray. But Nintendo had to shock us. The new games will most likely feature an updated storyline, obviously concerning the two heroes of Unova, and their respective halve of the mystery Dragon Pokemon told about in the myths of Unova. The new games feature Kyurem fused with Reshiram/Zekrom as their mascots. The new games will most definitely include an expansion for Keldeo, Meloetta, and Genesect. There have been speculation you play as one of the heroes of Unova, depending on the version, but I highly doubt t. There would be a lot of extra coding to do, considering Pokeballs weren't invented until long after the time frame of the two heroes. There would be lots of different gameplay mechanics, lots of different things to do. I have no doubt Nintendo and Game Freak could do it with enough time, but there was only a year between HG/SS and B/W. Then a year until the announcement of B/W Version 2. Not a lot of room to construct an entire new game with lots of different mechanics. I predict B/W Version 2 will just have a different story, and definitely a few new things. Think of Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum, how different they were from their sibling games. Updated along the lines of that, but not an entirely different game format. I bet approximately 50% of the people that read this had absolutely no idea what I was talking about most of the time. If you did, please comment about your own thoughts and opinions about B/W Version 2. If not, comment your question. If you still don't get it after that, ask again. If you still don't get it after that, go whine about how confusing I am on the internet. Or whine about how you couldn't read half of this post because you need new glasses. I don't really care.
